African Sport Management Association launched

On
June 6-8 in Kenyatta University delegates from countries throughout
Africa formed the African Sport Management Association (ASMA). This represents a shifting of the traditional centers of the sports industry. The original full press release for this event can be found here.
North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) has already
acknowledged this as a huge achievement and anticipate collaborations
between NASSM and ASMA to blossom very soon.

Master in European Basketball Coaching Science
The University of Worcester in partnership with the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education (LAPE) have launched the first Master in European Basketball Coaching. Significantly, the course will be endorsed by the Federation for International Basketball in Europe (FIBA Europe) and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation.

Rugby Conference in Massey University, Auckland New Zealand
The event organisation is currently seeking expressions of interest from potential speakers and
attendees to a proposed “Rugby Conference 2011: The Science and Business
of Rugby”, which would be held in Auckland from 2 – 4 September 2011.
The committee are still in the early planning stages of this event.
