Tackling Doping in Sport is becoming increasingly complex. New methods of doping are being developed that are harder to detect, which is making compliance with privacy, data protection and human rights legislation problematic when drawing up or enforcing anti-doping regulations. Regulations at an international level and a national level also often differ, which complicates enforcement and increases the chances of an athlete successfully appealing against sanctions. We will ensure you are up-to-date on the latest in anti-doping enforcement, missed tests and appeals.
This full-day briefing offers expert guidance on striking the correct balance between strict enforcement of anti-doping regulations, and consideration of athlete rights, including methods of appeal. Leaders in the industry will join in open debate on the treatment of recreational drugs.
This event will also bring together sports law experts to assess the commercial impact of doping, including an examination of doping clauses as employed by today’s biggest sponsors.
Issues to be Discussed Include:
* WADA: Application of the 2009 Code * Doping & Privacy * Anti-Doping Enforcement: Missed Tests & Appeals * The Commercial Impact of Doping: Withdrawal Clauses * The Limits of Anti-Doping Regulations * Blood Passports & UCI * Recreational Drugs * The Future of Anti-Doping Enforcement
