The modern, vibrant and sports loving city of Madrid will host the next EASM Conference and Student Seminar in September 2011.
We have recently experienced the joy and emotion of a great success of our sport in South Africa with the extraordinary achievement of the Spanish football team winning the World Cup for the first time. This has become an example of how fine team management, a positive and respectful working atmosphere and humility combined with persistence, can lead to an excellent result.
This recent success story makes us feel that the claim of our 2011 Conference -“Commitment”-, acquires a new dimension that our team will see to translate into the quality of contents, venues, promotion and social activities for all delegates. We aim at involving all agents active in sports management from both the academic and the business worlds.
The Student Seminar “European Sport Management Live in Madrid” will take place at the state of the arts campus of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, an institution closely linked to the Real Madrid School of Studies. The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is our academic partner for the Conference, which will be held at the Hotel Meliá Castilla, an ideally located five stars hotel with top end conference facilities, prepared to offer all the necessary services to the participants.
The Conference has so far obtained great institutional support. To date, the City of Madrid, the Madrid Convention Bureau, the Consejo Superior de Deportes and the Universidad Europea de Madrid are partners and sponsors of this unique event.
