Dear EASM Members,
A lot of progress has been made and now the foundation is laid to develop the organization further on during the upcoming time. It has been decided to use a website as our platform. This site is already running and the feedback is positive. This platform is used as a base for the Alumni community in which member can stay in touch with each other, find study opportunities, and jobs. Besides, the platform is recently enlarged accounts on Twitter and Facebook on which the public and members can follow and contact the association.
The EASM Alumni association is always present during the Student Seminar, which is traditionally held the days before the annual EASM Conference and as a result we have got a potential member rate between 1500 and 2000 people. Our member rate is now almost 400. At this moment some board members are working on developing the content on the site and the platform of knowledge in the backend of the website. Others are working on adding new members and informing current members of new options and features.
Besides this all, some organizational choices has to be made. In the field of this organizational development of the EASM Alumni, first there were already the board roles, but work was executed in workgroups. Now the organizational foundation is laid, there is more and more structure possible and perceptible.
Besides continuing and finishing the running developments, the intention of the EASM Alumni Board for the upcoming period is to generate budget for increasing and developing the organization and options for the members. This will be done by offering vacancies of jobs and internships from future partner-organizations and special offers provided by those partners.
Things EASM members could do is become a ‘Friend of EASM Alumni’, this concept will be launched during the Prague conference. Besides that all interesting sport management related information is very welcome, such as articles, links of websites, or of course contact information of potential sponsors.
Please help us to improve EASM Alumni, then we will together develop sport management across Europe!
